News Online in NZ – Search Engine Scrutiny

Published by NZ Editor under Industry Reports

This report focuses on the most popular NZ news websites and examines their visibility online, as well as their traffic patterns. In an increasingly competitive environment, we examine just which websites are capturing the public’s seemingly insatiable demand for news and information.

Our results show that out of the leading New Zealand news websites:

  • NZHerald.co.nz has the greatest natural search engine visibility
  • Stuff.co.nz is leading in the paid search engine results
  • Very few websites are paying for search engine positions
  • The number of news related searches is at its highest ever level

First Rate joins elite group of repeat achievers

Published by NZ Editor under First Rate News

This year we were the 36th fastest growing company in the Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50, to go with 21st (2007) and 42nd (2006). We also received our fourth consecutive Deloitte Asia Pacific Fast 500 award.

Only 7 other companies have appeared in the Fast 50 for three years or more since the index began in 2001.

Growth like this is not possible without excellent people and an environment that allows them to succeed, so a heartfelt thank you to all the great staff here and to all First Rate’s clients, past and present, that have contributed to this growth. It also would not be possible without Jon’s continued vision and drive in the developing online marketing field.

Given how quickly the market has changed in three year’s, our ability to interpret demand and then offer leading products and services has kept us ahead of our peers.

We look forward to 2009 and continuing to provide the market with thought leadership
